Medrano Wrap & Tint Concept site

Wraps, PPF & tint · Dallas

Four days to turn a white 911 satin charcoal.

Scroll through the job in our bay: prep, film, edges, tint.

Day 1 · Prep

Every panel is cleaned before film goes on.

Washed, clay-barred and wiped with alcohol, then the badges, lights and trim come off so the film can wrap behind them.

Day 2 · Lay

The hood goes on as one sheet.

Two installers glass one oversized sheet over the hood, then squeegee it down from the center out. The crest came off on day one and goes back on at the end.

Day 3 · Edges

Heat locks the film into every curve.

Every stretched edge is tucked with a squeegee and post-heated to around 200°F, so the film can’t creep back.

Day 3 · Tint

Ceramic tint, cut to the door glass.

Shaped outside, laid inside. 35% on the doors keeps it within Texas limits, with the state compliance sticker on the driver’s glass.

Day 4 · Reveal

Day four, it goes home charcoal.

Pick your color

Try it on

Pick a color. Pick a shade.

Five films that are not on Porsche’s standard paint list, plus the factory white to compare.

Window tint

Texas law: front doors must pass 25% of light with the glass, so 35% film is our darkest there. Rear side windows can be any shade, and the rear window too on a car with mirrors on both sides.

Asked at the counter.

Does a wrap damage paint?

On factory paint, a quality film removes cleanly when the time comes. Repainted panels are checked first.

How long does it last?

In Texas sun, plan on about 3 to 5 years for most color films, less for color-shift, with the hood and roof aging first. Kept garaged, longer. We go over washing and care at pickup.

Is the tint legal?

Texas measures tint with the glass, not the film alone. Front side windows must let through at least 25% of light, so 35% film is the darkest we lay there. Rear side windows are exempt, so any shade is legal. The rear window can be any shade when the car has outside mirrors on both sides, as a 911 does. On the windshield, a tinted strip can only run above the AS-1 line, or in the top 5 inches where there is no line; clear UV film can cover all of it. Every car we tint leaves with the Texas compliance sticker in the driver’s window.
